Sun Temple, Modhera
Dedicated to the solar deity, the Sun, this temple in Gujarat is one of the many which are now protected sites. While the temple dates back to the 11th century, it is still preserved and well maintained. Parts of it lies in ruins, but the primary structure stands erect in all of its glory.
The stone used for its construction shines a faint gold, which suits the temple and adds the little glow that it needs. The pillars are an important part of the temple as they display some of the most intricate arts of sculpturing.

Laxmi Vilas Palace, Vadodara
Another UNESCO World Heritage site in Gujarat is the Laxmi Vilas Palace. A brilliant vision to look at from afar, its interiors surpass brilliance! While the pale-yellow structure stands out amongst lush lawns, the bright interiors are an artwork, to say the least.
Whether it be sculptures or paintings, the chandeliers or the furniture, everything is perfect and exquisite. The light shows in the evenings light up the entire structure; you would have never seen anything that can be compared to this sight.
Mahabat Maqbara, Junagadh
Another example of the glorious Indian architecture, Mahabat Maqbara exhibits Euro-Indo-Islamic architecture with a panache that can never be matched by any other structure.
Its long windows, labyrinthine designs, balloon domes and winding pillars…words cannot describe the magic that it radiates.
