About me

Owner of Nomadic Nirvana

A little bit about me:

Born and bred in Andheri suburb in Mumbai, the most happening city.   Am in love with this city –  the local trains, the awesome street food and the friendly people of Mumbai.

Connecting the dots  – Why I chose to become a  travel blogger –

Love of Nature and Animal

Right from Primary School, I have been inspired a lot from Steve Irwin alias “The Crocodile Hunter.”  He was the First Guy who got me into love with Nature & Animals.   I never missed any of his episodes on the  T.V. series “The Crocodile Hunter.”

I used to be an Animal Planet and Discovery Channel Freak.

Awesome Part

In school, I was that kid that seemed never to be paying attention.  Always daydreaming,    I liked to draw.   When I was eight years old, my uncle brought me a digital multimedia encyclopedia called Microsoft Encarta.  That was one of the highlights of my Childhood.  Encarta helped me explore and was the best gift for me.

I always was a curious and observant kid, and.  At that time I was also interested in Sky watching, Astronomy, and Cosmos Physics.  I made a deal with my father that if I got full marks in Science or Maths, he should gift me a Telescope and I did get it.  He also bought me a Binocular instead of the Telescope.   Went through various phases when I wanted to be an Astronaut,  then an Archaeologist after reading history in Encarta.   In College,  I thought of taking up Biotechnology since I was quite good in Biology.

Music Part

Music – my greatest passion, it influenced my life a lot.   I am Old School when it comes to Music, this again came again from my Parents and especially my Best Friend, my Uncle.   It is not that I do not listen to contemporary music.  I have an excellent collection of both, but I am biased towards to Old School Music.

Music plays a crucial part in my life, to the extent that I started learning Spanish because I love Julio Iglesias.   That’s how important music is to me.

Foodie Part

I am in Love with the Street Food of Mumbai.   I was a Food Critic and used to review Restaurants on  Zomato,  a restaurant search and discovery service.

Movie Part

Many of my decisions have been influenced by movies, especially Travel Movies.   Some of these movies were Dil Chahta Hai, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Zindagi Na Milega Doobara and Last but not least,  The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

Decision Part

Though interested in  Biotechnology, I did not get the required marks to get into this field.   Biotechnology.   Since I was good in Computer, I got into Information Technology.   However, I soon realized that I was interested in Multimedia – like learning software like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier.

I have done a lot of thinking over the last two years about my career. I could never think of being in a Desk Job.  I was always Interested in Travelling and Exploring; I want to see the world and taste all cuisine.   It was my dream to travel and earn simultaneously.    But the response from everyone was either “No”  or  Not in India.”I always wanted a Travel Job. At this point, I came to know about Youtubers, Travel Bloggers. From then, it was all Travel Vlogs Day and Night likes Migrationology, Fun for Louis, Mr. Ben Brown and last but not the least Casey Neistat.

That’s how I got into it, and here I am today with my Website!

So all the parts after connecting all the Dots led to my Decision to be a Travel Blogger.
